Calaveras:
*First Written Piece & Art Piece* 'Second Written Piece & Art Piece
Calaveras Literarias are one of many traditions during Dia De Los Muertos. This tradition comes from Jose Guadalupe Posada. Jose Guadalupe Posada was a well known cartoonist and social and political commentator. He took the traditions and celebrations of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and used them as a theme for his work. He drew skeletons to act as a metaphor for corrupted rankings in society.
My first Calavera was about an artist. I completed an art piece for this Calavera and wrote a poem. My poem for this Calavera still needed a little bit of refinement. So, I made some corrections to my written piece in order to improve the quality of my work.
The second Calavera I wrote was about Miley Cyrus and a hypothetical scenario including what she does in her ‘afterlife’. I think this poem/story had better content and vocabulary than my first poem, but I chose to complete an art piece for the first one anyways.
Overall, I think the art piece for my first Calavera went well, but the written piece could have been better. I think I used a wider variety of vocabulary in my second Calavera, so I think it turned out better than my first.

Second Written Piece:
